What? No water?

Let me explain...

I debated whether I should even post this, but I felt that this needed to be shared to help shine some light on the idea of giving & not being ashamed to go the route less traveled.

I am not donating to ALS not because I do not feel it's important because it definitely is, but in my heart of hippie earth loving hearts, it would be completely hypocritical for me to pour water on my head when not only has my city recently had a huge water crisis, but over 783 million people do not have access to clean water. 

People in third world countries will travel MILES just to collect a couple buckets of filthy water daily, so pouring CLEAN water on my head was a no go from the start. Not shaming anyone who participated, but for me I could not bring myself to do it.

In doing my research I discovered a small amount of donations actually go to help ALS and unfortunately the organization does animal testing (which is also a no go for me in an age where we have such incredible technological breakthroughs why are we still testing on animals?!).

So I am going with my heart and donating to RainCatcher a nonprofit who helps to provide clean water to developing countries and who actually takes their donations and channels it to the cause itself.

With all of the excitement for the #alsicebucketchallenge dying down, I encourage you to keep giving & to do your own research and give to causes that matter to you. If you don't have the money, donate your time which to me is the most sacred thing you could give aside from your heart.
